Hi all,
THANK YOU for participating last night in the 1st Annual Bay Area Resolution Run! In the spirit of the former Campbell's Soup NYE run, Central Park run in NYC, and others across the country, we wanted to bring in a NYE run (back) to the Bay Area! So this was our initial attempt to do so! We really appreciate everyone's spirit and patience with the event.
Few items:
--Course: My apologies for literally a last minute course reduction/change as there was a portion of the course that was not well lit at all and looked a little unsafe. In previous nights, there was more lighting in that area but those lights were not on last night. For safety, I took that part out moved back the start/finish so definitely less than a 5K. I know we can do a bit more with arrows and a volunteers to ensure everyone stays on course next year. As with our other races, we will get the distance corrected and certified next year.
--Results: What we were able to record is attached. We will post on our website and get pictures up as well. Please feel free to send me pictures as well for our website and facebook site. Next year we will bring in our chip timing company but with the numbers and low key spirit this year, we just went old school.
--Thank Yous: A HUGE THANK YOU to Northgate Mall for allowing us the venue for this event! Everyone really appreciated being able to run around a safe, well lit, fun, and well-marked course. Your stewardship goes a long way in the running community and looking forward to an ongoing relationship. To our sponsors, Hint Water, Mamma Chia, Clif Bar, and No Excuses Sportswear, thank you for providing something special for the race participants. Special thanks to MADD and Being Adept for being involved in this inaugural event. Your causes are of utmost importance and we hope to give you more exposure and funds next year.
--Next Year: We definitely hope to make this an annual event and tradition! Look for some improvements next year for sure as we just wanted to get this race off the ground this year.
If anyone has any suggestions, wants to get involved in next year's event (sponsorship, event ideas, decorations, etc.), please feel free to contact me.
Happy New Year Everyone!
